Isle Serenade interprets Roja Dove's Isola Blu, a fresh-citrus chypre (a summery reworking of Oligarch). It opens bright and uplifting with bergamot, lime and lemon lifted by herbal thyme and aromatic lavender. The heart adds soft apple, orange blossom, blackcurrant, jasmine and a touch of coconut, while the base grounds it in a green, earthy chypre of oakmoss, cedar, patchouli and vetiver with amber, musk and vanilla for warmth. Against the original, this Perfume Parlour version captures the citrus-to-mossy-chypre arc convincingly but renders it flatter - it loses Roja's impeccable balance and the layered, high-end refinement that justifies the original's price, with the complex base reading thinner. Longevity is moderate where the original reaches eight to ten hours. It is a fresh, sophisticated citrus-chypre for warm spring and summer days, the office, daily wear and dates - a wallet-friendly route to that elegant Isola Blu freshness.
