Moscow Zest opens just where Juliette Has A Gun's Moscow Mule lives, a zesty but smooth burst of bergamot, lime and lemon that amps up into a deliciously sharp ginger, like a cocktail in a spritz. A green apple and airy hedione keep the heart bright and breezy, an easy, unisex freshness. It settles into a clean base of white musk, woody notes, ambrette and amberwood for a soft, skin-like finish. Set beside the original, the Perfume Parlour interpretation pushes the citrus and ginger a touch sharper and renders the warm, dry woody-musk drydown flatter and a little more synthetic, losing some of the original's smooth, characterful depth. Performance follows the dupe pattern, projecting brightly at first then settling close to the skin and fading sooner than the original's long wear.
