Pure Moist opens spicy and slightly aldehydic with bergamot, peach and orange, before quickly diving into its real character: a dense spice heart of clove, cinnamon and ylang-ylang with rose and a touch of orchid. The drydown is opulent and balsamic - amber, tolu balsam, benzoin, vanilla and patchouli - leaving a dusty, sensual ambery trail. Against Estee Lauder's Youth Dew, this dupe nails the bold spicy-amber DNA and that unmistakable vintage warmth, but the original's enormous longevity and excellent projection are dialled back here, giving a more wearable, skin-close version with shorter staying power. It remains a rich, grown-up oriental best suited to autumn and winter evenings, delivering the heart of a classic at a budget price.
