Roasted Beans

Perfume Parlour Roasted Beans is an Eau de Parfum launched in 2008. Roasted Beans opens with Coffee and Bergamot, settles into a heart of Patchouli and Cedar, and dries down to a base of Caramel, Tonka Bean, and Musk. Perfume Parlour's Roasted Beans carries a Statement verdict, a gourmand-led wear.

A budget take on Mugler A*Men Pure Coffee. The dark roasted-coffee opening over chocolatey patchouli, cedar and sweet caramel captures the original's coffee-in-a-forest character, though the dupe wears flatter and skin-closer - the rich depth and all-day longevity are softened.

About

Roasted Beans opens with a dark, rich coffee note, smooth but bitter, lifted by a touch of bergamot - the steaming-cup top that defined the original. The heart turns chocolatey and earthy with heavy patchouli and fresh woody cedar, like smelling coffee in the middle of a forest. The drydown sweetens into caramel, tonka bean and musk for a gourmand, cosy finish. Inspired by Mugler A*Men Pure Coffee, it chases that oriental coffee-gourmand character - the most patchouli-heavy of the A*Men flankers, dark and sweet at once. As a Perfume Parlour version it renders the blend flatter and skin-closer, with the inexpensive coffee and sweet caramel weighted up and the rich, layered patchouli depth softened, so it projects less than the original's good, all-day longevity. The result is a bold, cosy coffee scent that captures the mood of Pure Coffee for a fraction of the price.
