Mystic Essence opens with bergamot and blackcurrant, a fruity, slightly tart start that echoes Aura Mugler's juicy opening without its sharper, more unusual rhubarb facet. Jasmine and orange blossom carry the heart with a warm, familiar floral character, a fair if flatter nod to the original's bouquet. Patchouli, vanilla and sandalwood close things out with a soft, ambery warmth, missing the deeper, more resinous amber-wood signature that makes Aura Mugler stand out.
