Rebel Riviera takes on Tom Ford's Neroli Portofino, the cult citrus-aromatic known for its clean, soapy neroli and lavender-driven freshness - and for its notoriously short lifespan. Rebel Riviera opens with a similar bright bergamot-citrus burst, but its green apple twist gives it a fruitier, less refined edge than the original's photorealistic orange-blossom clarity. The heart brings peach and coconut alongside jasmine, drifting further from Neroli Portofino's soapy floral core into a more generic tropical-fresh territory. The sandalwood-musk-amber base is soft and inoffensive but thin, so this dupe fades to almost nothing within an hour or two - a real handicap for a fragrance whose original is already famous for fading fast. Good for a light citrus splash on a hot day, but don't expect the sophisticated neroli-forward character that made the original a signature scent for so many.
