Date Formal

Strong projection and a spiced oud signature make it unsuitable for shared workspaces but excellent for evenings, dinners and formal occasions.

About

Oud Vibration is the house's fullest interpretation of the rose and oud pairing, and it announces itself with fruit rather than smoke. Raspberry opens the composition with a tart, jammy sweetness, pricked immediately by cardamom, which gives the top a green resinous lift and stops the fruit reading as dessert. The heart is classical and warm. Bulgarian rose absolute is the centrepiece, rich and slightly honeyed, with geranium sharpening its green stemmy side and clove supplying a dry peppery heat that makes the whole thing feel spiced rather than merely floral. Underneath, an oud accord takes over: this is a reconstruction rather than a distilled agarwood oil, so it delivers depth, leather and a faint medicinal darkness without the fermented intensity of Middle Eastern attars. Sandalwood softens it with cream, cedar adds dryness, and labdanum brings a resinous amber glow to the drydown. Performance is the strongest in the range, with eight to ten hours typical and assertive projection for the first few hours; apply less than you think you need. Autumn and winter are its seasons, and evening is its moment, whether that is dinner, a party or something formal. The lane is European niche oriental, sitting between the Arabian houses on one side and designer rose-oud flankers on the other, and it is the pick of the Roos & Roos range for anyone who wants presence.
