014 - Citrus Nuage is one of the handful of Rosa Salas fragrances built as the house's own signature rather than a dupe of a specific designer original. It opens with a wide citrus spread - orange, mandarin, bergamot, grapefruit and lemon - lifted by aldehydes for a sparkling, effervescent brightness reminiscent of classic citrus colognes rather than any single modern reference point. The heart moves into a green-aromatic direction with geranium, black pepper, thyme, neroli, cedar and rosemary, giving the composition a herbal, slightly spicy backbone that keeps the citrus opening from reading as thin or one-dimensional. The base then settles into a genuinely warm, ambery close built on tonka bean, amber, musk, patchouli, vanilla and elemi - considerably more developed than most citrus colognes, which tend to fade to nothing within the hour. That layered base is Citrus Nuage's real point of difference: it takes the fizzy, crowd-pleasing citrus opening people expect from this genre and gives it a proper amber-woody drydown to hold onto, rather than leaving it to disappear.
