SMEL. Alien Perfume is an Eau de Parfum. Alien Perfume opens with Jasmine, settles into a heart of Cashmeran, and dries down to a base of Amber. SMEL.'s Alien Perfume carries a Statement verdict, a white floral-led wear.

Alien Perfume goes after Mugler's Alien with a stripped-back jasmine-amber-wood trio, and the waxy white floral opening lands reasonably close - but Mugler's original is a huge, room-filling scent that keeps growing for hours, while this version is comparatively quiet and settles fast.

About

Mugler's Alien is one of the most polarising and powerful white florals on the market, built around a heady jasmine sambac note fused with warm cashmeran wood and mineral amber that projects for a full day and can fill a room within minutes. Copycat's Alien Perfume takes the same three-note skeleton - jasmine, cashmeran, amber - and the opening captures the essential character reasonably well, with a waxy, indolic floral note that is recognisably in the same family as the original. Where it diverges is scale: Alien is famous precisely because it is loud, and this dupe is not. The amber base arrives thinner and sweeter rather than the original's slightly metallic, mineral warmth, and the whole composition sits much closer to the skin, fading to something faint within four or five hours where the real Alien is still going strong. The result is a pleasant, wearable white floral in its own right, but it trades away the exact quality - overwhelming, otherworldly presence - that makes people seek out Alien in the first place.
