The Essence Vault's No. 913 takes on Gucci Bamboo, a modern floral built around exotic Casablanca lily and ylang-ylang softened by orange blossom and bergamot, and the opening captures that graceful, multifaceted femininity reasonably well. The lily-ylang-ylang heart is the dupe's strongest moment - bright, slightly exotic, and not generic in the way cheaper white florals can be. Where it loses ground is the drydown: Gucci Bamboo's sandalwood-vanilla-amber base is prized for a warm, resilient glow that lingers 6-8 hours and grows more intimate as it settles, while No. 913's base is thinner and more one-dimensional, drifting into a soft but forgettable woody-sweet haze within a couple of hours. The overall composition reads a touch flatter and less layered than the original's genuinely elegant balance of delicate and confident. As an inexpensive way to sample the lily-ylang-ylang category, or a quick office spritz, it does the job - but it won't carry the quiet sophistication of Bamboo into an evening.
