The Essence Vault Ombre Nomade - 499 is an Eau de Parfum. Ombre Nomade - 499 opens with Incense and Raspberry, settles into a heart of Oud and Rose, and dries down to a base of Amber and Birch. The Essence Vault's Ombre Nomade - 499 carries an Acquired verdict, a oud-led wear.

No. 499 goes after Louis Vuitton Ombre Nomade's smoky oud-incense-raspberry signature and captures the mood, but the oud reads synthetic and flatter than the original's rich, resinous wood, with the smoke and fruit louder up front to compensate for a thinner, shorter-lived base.

About

No. 499 sets out to recreate Louis Vuitton's cult favourite Ombre Nomade, and the smoky-oud-incense opening is instantly recognisable in spirit. A jammy raspberry note pushes through early, more assertive than in the original, before smoky incense and a rose-oud heart take over. The oud itself is where the gap to the designer version shows most - it is present but noticeably more one-dimensional, lacking Ombre Nomade's layered, almost leathery richness. Birch and amber close things out with reasonable warmth, though the overall experience is flatter and fades faster than the multi-hour smoky trail the original is famous for. Still a solid entry point into the smoky-oud genre for cooler evenings and formal occasions where a bold, mysterious presence is wanted.
