Birkholz Perfume Manufacture
German family-run niche house focused on handcrafted, high-oil-concentration perfumes with strong personality and customization.
Birkholz Perfume Manufacture is a German niche fragrance house established in 2017 by perfume sommelier Philip Birkholz and his family near Berlin. The brand operates as a family-owned manufactory, with headquarters and production located at Europark Dreilinden in Kleinmachnow, close to the historic Checkpoint Bravo. All perfumes are finished by hand in-house, reflecting the company’s focus on craftsmanship and tight control over quality.
The Birkholz family leverages more than two decades of expertise, working with high concentrations of perfume oils, typically in the 18-25 percent range, to ensure notable longevity and presence on skin. Ingredients are sourced from major international suppliers such as Firmenich, Givaudan, and Robertet, aligning the brand with the standards of established luxury perfumery while maintaining a distinctly German production identity. The creative direction is led by Philip Birkholz, who collaborates with international perfumers and draws heavily on travel experiences to shape each composition.
Birkholz organizes its catalog into several collections, including the Black Collection, Woody Collection, and Classic Collection, each exploring different stylistic territory from darker, more intense blends to wood-focused and globally inspired themes. The brand also places strong emphasis on personalization: customers can select hand-stitched Italian leather caps, customized engravings, and tailored combinations designed to reflect individual character. Since launching, Birkholz has grown from a Berlin-based studio into a presence in more than fifty markets, supported by over 300 points of sale in Germany and expanding distribution in countries such as Vietnam, Spain, and Mexico.
A niche, luxury house known for oriental compositions.
Since its launch in 2017, Birkholz has moved from a primarily Berlin-focused studio operation to an international niche player present in more than fifty countries. The catalog has expanded into multiple themed collections, and the emphasis on customization and high oil concentration has become a defining part of the brand’s marketing and identity. Recent years have seen continued growth in overseas distribution and concept-store placements, while still maintaining production in the original German manufactory.
Birkholz is a modern German niche house for those who want bold, polished, long-lasting perfumes with a personal twist rather than avant-garde experimentation. If you value performance, craftsmanship and customization more than absolute originality, it deserves a serious look.
