Furla
Italian accessories brand offering color-driven, feminine designer fragrances at accessible luxury prices.
Furla is an Italian brand founded in 1927 by Aldo Furlanetto in Bologna, where it began as a wholesale distributor of ladies accessories. According to the brand's own history, the first Furla store opened in Bologna in 1955, and the company later expanded into leather bags, shoes and accessories while keeping production rooted in Italian craftsmanship and color-focused design.
Furla moved into perfumery through a licensing agreement with the Venetian perfume company Mavive, announced in 2019 for worldwide production and distribution of Furla-branded fragrances. The first collection, launched around 2020, introduced five eaux de parfum - Magnifica, Romantica, Preziosa, Irresistibile and Favolosa - each positioned around a distinct feminine character with different regional and olfactory preferences in mind. Irresistibile, created by perfumer Mathieu Nardin, has been described in brand communications as a bouquet built around white camellia and tuberose, lifted by lily of the valley and orange blossom.
Subsequent launches have continued this approach of linking scent concepts to color, personality and lifestyle, in line with Furla’s established identity in leather goods. External distributors such as Nobilis Group highlight that the perfume line spans floral, fruity, woody and more exotic accords, aimed at offering accessible options across a range of tastes rather than focusing on a single niche style.
A designer, mid house known for floral compositions.
Furla spent decades focused on leather goods and only entered perfumery after securing a licensing deal with Mavive in 2019. The early fragrance collections stick closely to safe floral-fruity and soft woody themes, reflecting a cautious, lifestyle-led entry into the category. Over time, flankers and new launches have nudged into slightly more diverse accords, but the core strategy remains offering broadly likeable, color-coded perfumes that support the brand's fashion identity rather than pursuing experimental perfumery.
Furla fragrances are straightforward, feminine designer scents that prioritize wearability over originality. They suit shoppers who already like the brand's bags and want a matching, easy everyday perfume rather than a statement-making composition.
