Boisiris is a Givaudan aroma chemical. It is a dry wood carrying a powdery orris accent, with warm ambery and tobacco undertones behind it. Givaudan's own wording puts the order beyond doubt: a woody chemical with an orris note, not an iris chemical with a woody note. It is not orris and it does not try to be.

Origin

A synthetic molecule made by Givaudan and sold under the trade name Boisiris. Firmenich sells the same material as Physeol, and Tadimety Aromatics lists it too, so it reaches perfumers under more than one name. There is no natural source. The Good Scents Company aggregates all three suppliers' odour descriptions under one entry.

Usage in Perfumery
