Note Profile
Cabreuva has a soft, woody aroma with subtle floral and rosy undertones, accompanied by a gentle sweetness. Its scent is mild and refined, lacking the harshness of some other woody notes, and it develops a slightly balsamic nuance as it dries down.
Cabreuva oil is distilled from the wood of the Myrocarpus fastigiatus tree, native to South America, particularly Brazil and Paraguay. The essential oil is obtained through steam distillation of the heartwood.
Perfumers use cabreuva primarily as a heart note to impart smooth woody and floral nuances, often blending it with rose, sandalwood, and citrus notes. It is valued for its ability to soften and round out compositions, especially in floral, woody, and oriental fragrances.
