Scent Profile

Lava smells of hot stone, mineral and metallic, with a sulphur sting riding on top. That sting fades fast into a warm, smoky depth underneath. A warm, earthy quality runs through the mineral core, backed by a resinous, amber-like weight that keeps it from reading as cold stone. A charged, ionised-air freshness sits over the whole thing. That charged freshness is ozonic.

What is ScentArt?

Origin

A fantasy note. Nothing is extracted from lava and there is nothing to extract: fresh flows run at 700 to 1200C and destroy volatile organic compounds, so the smell people remember from a volcano is the gas released around the flow, mainly SO2, H2S and HCl, not the molten rock. Perfumers build it from mineral-metallic accords, sulphurous traces at micro-levels, ozonic materials for the ionised-air quality, and warm smoky base elements.
