About

Cobblestone is an atmospheric accord, not a material. It is cold wet granite with damp earth in it and a little moss from the cracks. The coldness of the stone is the dominant sensation, with everything else laid over it. It is darker and more layered than a clean wet-stone accord.

Scent Profile

Cobblestone is cold, wet granite, and the coldness of the stone is the main thing you notice. An earthy, musty note runs underneath. Rain-washed water sits over the stone throughout. A green, mossy note comes from moss and lichen in the cracks, giving it a darker, dirtier edge than plain wet stone.

Origin

No plant and no molecule. Premiere Peau's own spec table says so twice: 'CAS Number N/A - olfactory concept, not a molecule' and 'Botanical Name N/A - olfactory concept'. The same source describes how it is built: 'composed from mineral, geosmin, cold-stone, and green-mossy materials', with geosmin at trace level. Geosmin is a real material and is published here as its own note. The other three components are named only by category, so what a given perfumer actually weighs out is unknown.

Usage in Perfumery

A background setting note. Premiere Peau places it in 'European-urban, rain-themed, and architectural compositions' and says it 'functions as a background atmospheric element providing urban-European setting'. Attested on 7 Fragrantica entries and absent from Parfumo. Fragrantica files it under 'Natural and synthetic, popular and weird'.
