Neofolione
Note Profile
About
Sharp metallic violet-leaf green
Scent Profile
Neofolione smells of crushed violet leaves, vivid and sharp. A metallic, almost hot-iron brightness cuts through the green. A flash of cucumber, a little green apple and melon sit beside it. A faint sweet, waxy tone lies underneath.

Smell words come from published sources.
A given perfume with this note may use this material, or something else.
Origin
Neofolione is Givaudan's trade name for methyl 2-nonenoate, CAS 111-79-5. It is a synthetic ester. Givaudan sells it as the replacement for Folione, its older violet leaf material.
Usage in Perfumery
Perfumers use it in small amounts to add a bright, sharp green lift. It blends with floral notes, above all violet, where it gives the leaf beside the ionone flower. It is a modern stand-in for methyl octine carbonate and imparts freshness and diffusion.
