Scent Profile
Fruity and sweet_vanillic sit almost level, and that near-tie is the note. Fruity is unmistakably red berry, ripe and jammy rather than just-picked. Sweet_vanillic is the syrup itself: dense boiled sugar with a caramel edge behind it, the furaneol effect at high concentration. Honeyed adds the sticky, viscous quality that separates a syrup from dry candy sugar. Below, sour keeps a thread of the fruit's tartness that survives cooking, lactonic gives a slight cooked-cream roundness, and green is scored low on purpose because the sources say the syrup register is where the fresh fruit's green freshness drops away.

Origin
A prepared-food reference rather than a material. The odour is built from strawberry aroma chemicals held at a concentration that reads as cooked rather than fresh. Furaneol (DMHF) is the pivot: the same compound smells of sweet strawberry when dilute and of caramel at higher concentration, so pushing it up is what turns fruit into syrup. Ethyl methylphenylglycidate and ethyl maltol do similar work in commercial accords.
Usage in Perfumery
A gourmand heart note. It anchors sweet compositions alongside vanilla, caramel and chocolate, where a fresh strawberry would read too thin and too green. Used when the brief wants appetite appeal rather than a garden.
