4160 Tuesdays Hush Hush is an Eau de Toilette launched in 2023, created by Sarah McCartney. Hush Hush opens with Bergamot and Orange Blossom, settles into a heart of Rose, Iris, and Violet, and dries down to a base of Musk, Vanilla, and Cashmeran. 4160 Tuesdays's Hush Hush carries a Statement verdict, a floral-led wear.

The lighter, everyday-strength Hush Hush: the same powdery violet-iris-musk collaboration with Claire Sprigmore, at Eau de Toilette concentration for a closer, cooler, more refreshing take than the EDP or Parfum.

Top, heart and base are the brand's own listing, not a timing claim - the industry classifies a note by its character as much as by how fast it fades. Each curve here is modelled from that material's own volatility, so groups can overlap when a house lists long-lasting materials in its heart.

When To Wear

Best Seasons

Also Works:
Spring Fall Winter

The powdery violet-iris-musk heart leans toward cooler-weather comfort, but a longtime wearer singles out the EDT specifically for a cooling effect that suits warmer weather, so it scores a touch higher for spring and summer than a typical vintage-style powdery fragrance would.

Best Occasions

Also Works:
Date Casual Formal

It is built around the imagery of a smart 1920s party (suits, silk dresses) which supports some formal and date-night wear, while its light, skin-hugging Eau de Toilette strength keeps it easy enough for office and casual days too.

Declarable allergens

We derive these from the materials behind this fragrance's notes, not from the bottle. Each one is likely, not confirmed. The list is partial - the box can name others.

In standard patch-test panels

  • Geraniol from Rose

Other declarable allergens

  • Bergamot Citrus Aurantium Bergamia Peel Oil from Bergamot
  • Synthetic musk Hexamethylindanopyran from Musk
  • Vanillin from Vanilla

The large name is the everyday one. The small name is the INCI form on the box, so you can compare the two. Reactions differ between people. A patch-test panel is not a ranking of risk. How we derive this

About

Hush Hush began as a proper collaboration between 4160 Tuesdays and YouTuber Claire Sprigmore, built around a simple brief: your skin but better. This Eau de Toilette carries the same idea, imagined as a secret 1920s party where everyone is wearing the new things, violets and iris, vanilla and musks, smart suits and silk dresses, someone opening a fresh packet of cigarettes. Bergamot and sparkly orange blossom open it, bright and citrus-clean, before the powdery violet and iris heart settles in, built on the ionones and irones that give early 20th century perfumes their soft, nostalgic texture, with natural orris doing a lot of the work. A smidgen of natural rose and a fair quantity of Cashmeran round the powderiness out with a modern, musky-woody warmth, before layers of musk and a creamy vanilla settle everything into a soft, skin-close finish. At Eau de Toilette strength, this is the lightest and coolest of the three ways Hush Hush is sold. Wearers describe it as noticeably present without being heavy, and one longtime fan singles out the EDT specifically for a cooling effect that suits warmer weather, alongside a purple, leather-glove-adjacent powderiness that reads more nostalgic than dated. It stays close and skin-hugging rather than filling a room, so it is easy to reach for through the day and works equally well solo or layered. It sits alongside the house's other violet-iris powdery scents, a gentler, more refreshing entry point into a fragrance that also comes in EDP and Parfum strengths, for anyone who wants the same 1920s-party idea without the fuller concentration's weight.
