Affinessence Cuir Curcuma is an Eau de Parfum launched in 2017, created by Alexandra Carlin. Affinessence's Cuir Curcuma carries a Favourite verdict, a woody-led wear.

This one is truly divisive. Some find it a beautifully blended, creamy leather masterpiece with addictive warmth; others dismiss it as an overpriced, unremarkable caramel mess. It's unique, but whether that's good or bad depends entirely on your nose.

Top, heart and base are the brand's own listing, not a timing claim - the industry classifies a note by its character as much as by how fast it fades. Each curve here is modelled from that material's own volatility, so groups can overlap when a house lists long-lasting materials in its heart.

About

Cuir Curcuma offers a unique take on leather, opening with an unexpected creamy turmeric spice that immediately smooths into a supple, almost buttery leather accord. Powdery iris adds a refined softness, while a base of warm sandalwood, resinous benzoin, and a hint of myrrh wraps the composition in a cozy, slightly sweet embrace. The patchouli provides an earthy depth that grounds the fragrance, preventing it from becoming overly sweet.
