Chocolate Dream takes its cue from Xerjoff's Lira, opening with a tangy blood orange and juicy plum accord that recalls the original's citrus-caramel entrance. A heart of warm cinnamon, a playful twist of liquorice and soft lavender and jasmine adds spice and floral lift before the composition settles into a base of caramel, vanilla, musk and patchouli wood. Where genuine Lira is prized for its dry, musky, slightly powdery lemon-vanilla character with strong projection, this dupe leans sweeter and more purely dessert-like, with the caramel and vanilla dominating and less of the dry, powdery-musk complexity that gives the original its sophistication. The citrus opening is a faithful nod, but the overall effect reads more straightforwardly gourmand than niche. Longevity is moderate for the price point, with the sweet caramel-vanilla base carrying a cozy trail for several hours before fading to a soft musky finish, falling short of the 10-hour wear some reviewers report for Lira.
