Alexandria UK Ruthless Aqua is an Eau de Parfum. Ruthless Aqua opens with Grapefruit, settles into a heart of Aquatic, and dries down to a base of Amberwood. Alexandria UK's Ruthless Aqua carries an Acquired verdict, a citrus-led wear.

A simple, effective budget take on Rabanne's limited Invictus Aqua 2024, matching the grapefruit-marine-amberwood skeleton but with a shorter lifespan than the original's own middling performance.

About

Ruthless Aqua takes the stripped-back, three-note structure of the 2024 Invictus Aqua flanker and reproduces it fairly faithfully: a sharp, bitter grapefruit opening crashing into a cool marine accord before settling on an amberwood base. Because the original itself is a simple, minimalist composition, this is one of the easier profiles to dupe convincingly, and the character comes through clearly in the first hour - bright, salty, and unmistakably summery. Where it loses ground is staying power; the original's longevity was already only average by most accounts, and this budget version fades noticeably faster, particularly the marine facet, which is the first thing to disappear. The amberwood base holds on a little longer and gives a pleasant, sun-warmed finish. For a limited-edition flanker that's hard to find at retail, this is a low-cost way to get the gist of the scent for beach days and gym bags, even if it needs reapplication more often than the name-brand original.
