Aqualis Coda is a Parfum launched in 2020, created by Amandine Galliano. Coda opens with Red Fruits, Bergamot, Cinnamon, and Blackcurrant, settles into a heart of Patchouli, Jasmine, Geranium, and Saffron, and dries down to a base of Musk, Amber, and Oud. Aqualis's Coda carries a Statement verdict, a woody-led wear.

A sweet, spicy oud: cinnamon and red berries open onto saffron and labdanum, then a deep oud and amber base. Rich, long-lasting and best on autumn evenings, it is loved by most voters but heavy for some.

Top, heart and base are the brand's own listing, not a timing claim - the industry classifies a note by its character as much as by how fast it fades. Each curve here is modelled from that material's own volatility, so groups can overlap when a house lists long-lasting materials in its heart.

When To Wear

Best Seasons

Best For:
Spring Autumn Winter

Autumn leads, with spring and winter next, as the cinnamon, saffron, oud and amber suit cool weather. Summer is the weakest season, though some wearers still spray it then.

Best Occasions

Best For:
Date Formal
Also Works:
Casual

Nights out and evenings score highest, then leisure and daily wear. The rich, strong oud needs room, so business wear is middling and sport is a poor fit.

About

Coda is the Parfum-strength closing chapter of the Aqualis London range, a sweet, spicy oud composed by Amandine Galliano. The brand calls it intense, glowing and fiery, and the opening bears that out: sweet red berries and blackcurrant, lifted by bergamot, with cinnamon adding a hot, almost candied spice. The heart is floral and resinous at once. Jasmine and geranium sit with patchouli, labdanum and a leathery saffron that gives the middle its dry, savoury turn. Some wearers find the whole thing richly sweet, while others hear mostly patchouli and a woody, slightly spicy oud. The base is the point of the scent. Oud is the backbone, wrapped in warm amber and musk, and it is where most of the wear happens. Wearers report that it lasts a long time, with moderate to strong projection. It is at its best in autumn and in the evening, although plenty of people wear it in spring and winter too. At 25 percent Parfum strength, a small amount goes a long way. The reaction is mixed rather than lukewarm. Most voters love or like it, and its fans call it a well balanced sweet oud that is worth seeking out. A smaller group finds it heavy, dusty and masculine. It belongs with the fruity, spicy ouds, and it is worth trying on skin before buying at its price.
