Aqualis Canvas is a Parfum launched in 2020, created by Amandine Galliano. Canvas opens with Bergamot, Ylang-Ylang, Freesia, and Pink Pepper, settles into a heart of Jasmin Sambac, Rose, Iris, and Mimosa, and dries down to a base of Vetiver, Vanilla, Tonka Bean, and Tobacco. Aqualis's Canvas carries a Favourite verdict, a floral-led wear.

A powdery iris and jasmine sambac floral with white musk, vanilla and a touch of tobacco. Clean, delicate and moderate in wear, it is loved as a pristine daily scent and found soapy or not worth the price by a few.

Top, heart and base are the brand's own listing, not a timing claim - the industry classifies a note by its character as much as by how fast it fades. Each curve here is modelled from that material's own volatility, so groups can overlap when a house lists long-lasting materials in its heart.

When To Wear

Best Seasons

Best For:
Spring Summer Autumn

Spring leads the votes, with autumn and summer close behind on a clean, powdery iris. Winter is the weakest season, so it suits the milder half of the year best.

Best Occasions

Best For:
Office Date Casual
Also Works:
Formal

Leisure, daily and business wear lead the votes, with night out and evening lower. The brand frames it as the start of the day, and sport is the weakest fit.

About

Canvas is the Aqualis Parfum built as a blank page: a fresh, clean floral meant to be the starting point of the day. The London house makes its fragrances with Robertet, and Amandine Galliano composed this one at 30 percent concentration. It opens with a sparkling bergamot and a luxurious collage of white flowers, freesia and ylang-ylang with a touch of pink pepper. The heart is powdery iris with jasmine sambac, mimosa and rose, giving a suede-like texture that the brand calls tactile and luxurious. The base dissolves into white musk, a velvety swirl of vanilla, tobacco, tonka bean and Haitian vetiver. Wearers describe a pristine and clean atmosphere with an old-fashioned powderiness. It wears moderately: a quiet trail, and good but not exceptional lasting power. It suits spring best, with autumn and summer close, and works for daily, leisure and the office rather than for formal evenings. Opinion is split between those who find it a pleasant, dry iris and those who find it soapy, stale or poor value for the price. It sits closer to a soft iris and white-musk soliflore than to a sweet floral, and wearers mostly read it as feminine. Sold in 50 ml and 100 ml, it is worth a sample first, because the iris is the whole scent.
