Aromara Crimson Cuir is an Extrait de Parfum. Crimson Cuir opens with Bergamot, Cardamom, and Saffron, settles into a heart of Leather, Birch, and Raspberry, and dries down to a base of Musk, Amber, and Patchouli. Aromara's Crimson Cuir carries an Acquired verdict, a leather-led wear.

Crimson Cuir is Aromara's take on Maison Crivelli Cuir Infrarouge, a niche fruity-leather that built a cult following on raspberry-soaked leather over smoky birch. This 35% Extrait leans harder into the raspberry top and leather heart than the original's more restrained blend, trading some of Crivelli's polish for a louder, cheaper-to-love opening that fades a touch faster into the patchouli-musk base.

About

Crimson Cuir chases the fruity-leather signature that made Maison Crivelli's Cuir Infrarouge a talking point among niche collectors: a jammy raspberry note laid straight over smoked leather, with a spiced saffron-cardamom top that gives it lift before the leather takes hold. Where the original builds its leather slowly and layers in a genuinely tannic, smoky birch tar for realism, Crimson Cuir opens brighter and sweeter, pushing the raspberry and saffron harder in the first hour so the fruity-leather contrast reads instantly rather than developing over time. That makes it a more immediate, less brooding version of the idea - closer to a candy-leather accord than Crivelli's smoky, almost medicinal original, but recognisably built from the same bones. The patchouli-amber-musk base holds the leather in place through the dry-down, though projection tapers earlier than the £215 original. At 35% Extrait it still has real weight for a budget dupe, and the raspberry-leather pairing is distinctive enough on its own that fans of the fruity-leather genre (Cuir Infrarouge, Tobacco Vanille's fruitier cousins) will recognise the reference within seconds of spraying.
