Coco Mademoiselle turned Chanel's feminine line into a modern chypre-oriental, and No 09 follows the same architecture: orange and bergamot open bright and fresh, rose and jasmine carry a soft floral heart, and patchouli with vetiver settle the base. The opening is a fair match, citrus-forward and fresh in the way that made the original feel younger than a classic Chanel. The gap shows in the base, where Chanel's patchouli-vetiver combination builds a dense, long-lasting chypre foundation with real depth and a faint smoky warmth; No 09's version is lighter and simpler, fading toward a soft musky-woody finish sooner rather than holding that grounded chypre character. Projection is fresh and pleasant at the start, then drops off within a few hours.
