Blossom Perfumery 048 Light Blue is an Eau de Parfum. 048 Light Blue opens with Lemon, Cedar, and Apple, settles into a heart of Rose, Jasmine, and Bamboo, and dries down to a base of Musk, Amber, and Cedar. Blossom Perfumery's 048 Light Blue carries an Acquired verdict, a citrus-led wear.

048 chases Dolce & Gabbana's Light Blue with the same Sicilian citrus-apple opening, but the fruit reads sweeter and more synthetic, and the cedar-musk dry-down fades within a couple of hours where the original quietly lingers.

About

048 is built around the same Mediterranean-citrus idea that made D&G's Light Blue a modern classic: a burst of apple and lemon over crisp cedar, meant to feel like sun on skin. The opening is genuinely close - bright, zesty, immediately recognisable as a Light Blue riff - and it's the strongest part of the composition. The heart softens into bamboo, jasmine, and white rose, though the florals sit further back than in the original, more of a suggestion than a bouquet. Where the gap widens is the base. Light Blue's cedarwood-musk-amber dry-down is famously long-lasting and subtle, carrying the fragrance for most of a day on skin; 048's version is thinner and noticeably shorter, settling into a generic clean-musk finish that loses definition well before the original would still be humming. The fruit also skews sweeter and slightly more one-dimensional, favouring a candied apple note over the crisp Granny Smith tartness Light Blue is known for. As a cheap, cheerful summer citrus it works; as a stand-in for the real thing on longevity, it falls noticeably short.
