Blossom Perfumery 168 Belle Vie is an Eau de Parfum. 168 Belle Vie opens with Pear and Blackcurrant, settles into a heart of Orange Blossom, Jasmine, and Iris, and dries down to a base of Patchouli, Vanilla, Tonka Bean, and Praline. Blossom Perfumery's 168 Belle Vie carries an Acquired verdict, a sweet-led wear.

Inspired by Lancome La Vie Est Belle. The blackcurrant-iris-praline gourmand formula reads correctly, but No. 168 pushes sweetness over the original's soft powdery iris, and fades faster.

About

No. 168 is built on the same gourmand-iris formula that made Lancome's La Vie Est Belle a modern icon: blackcurrant and pear up top, an iris and jasmine heart, praline, vanilla, patchouli and tonka underneath. On first spray it's a fair approximation of that sweet, comforting floral-gourmand character. What it misses is the original's soft-focus iris, which gives La Vie Est Belle its distinctive powdery elegance rather than pure sweetness; here the iris is muted and the composition leans harder into candied vanilla-praline, fading to a simple sweet musk within three hours where the original keeps its powdery warmth going for the best part of a day. An enjoyable, budget-friendly gourmand for cooler weather, but a simpler, sweeter cousin of the real thing.
