427 takes its structure from Givenchy's Irresistible, opening with a juicy pear and soft ambrette combination that mirrors the original's fresh entrance. The heart pairs rose with iris for a powdery, refined effect, before settling into a cedar and clean musk base. The pear comes across a touch more candied and the iris less velvety than the real thing, and overall diffusion drops off within a couple of hours where the original keeps a soft trail for much longer. Still, it's a reasonable everyday approximation of the bright, fruity-floral character Givenchy built, and a sensible way to try the idea for daytime wear at a fraction of the cost.
