538 leans directly on Marc Jacobs Perfect's distinctive rhubarb and narcissus opening - a tart, slightly vegetal green note that's genuinely uncommon and translates reasonably well here. The heart is where the gap widens: the almond milk that gives Perfect its creamy, gourmand-but-not-sweet character reads flatter and more one-dimensional in this version, missing the silky texture of the original. Cashmeran and cedar in the base are present but thinner, meaning the soft, cosy trail that makes Perfect linger pleasantly on skin and clothes tapers off noticeably sooner.
