558 | Inspired by English Pear & Freesia opens with a juicy, almost confected pear over melon, more overtly fruity than Jo Malone's crisp, orchard-fresh original. Freesia and rose bloom softly at the heart, giving a pretty, feminine bouquet, though it lacks the airy transparency that makes the designer cologne feel so effortless. The base of musk, patchouli, rhubarb and amber is warm and clean but thin, fading to skin-scent within a couple of hours where the original keeps a gentle presence for much longer.
