Early Modern Celadon is an Eau de Parfum, created by Clara Weale. Early Modern's Celadon carries a Statement verdict, an elemental-led wear.

A cool, mineral Eau de Parfum that pairs crisp lettuce and pepper with clay, chalk and concrete over musk. Most wearers who have voted like it; projection is close and how long it lasts varies.

Top, heart and base are the brand's own listing, not a timing claim - the industry classifies a note by its character as much as by how fast it fades. Each curve here is modelled from that material's own volatility, so groups can overlap when a house lists long-lasting materials in its heart.

When To Wear

Best Seasons

Best For:
Spring Summer

Wearer votes favour spring and summer, with autumn and winter well behind. The group of voters is small, so read it as a tendency, not a rule.

Best Occasions

Also Works:
Casual

Wearers call it unusual and close-wearing, and none names an occasion. Casual wear is a cautious fit and the other occasions score lower.

About

Celadon is an Eau de Parfum from Early Modern, the Glasgow house whose perfumes are credited to Clara Weale. Its name is a pale, greyish green, and the scent is built from unusual, almost architectural materials rather than the usual flowers and woods. The brand sorts its materials into two groups instead of a top, heart and base pyramid. One group is the image of the scent: lettuce, pepper, clay, crushed concrete and chalk. The other is the supporting material: elemi resin, copaiba balsam, tonka bean and musk. Read together they give a crisp green start, a cool mineral middle and a soft, musky finish. Wearers who have written about it describe the same arc: a lettuce-led opening with pepper, clay, chalk or concrete, then musk, and a cool, unusual character. One calls it calming and artful, another simply fresh, green and musky. Most of those who have voted like it. Projection is described as close to the skin, and the reports on how long it lasts vary, so it is best judged on your own skin rather than against a promised number of hours. Celadon suits anyone who wants a green scent that smells more of stone and leaf than of flowers. A sample is the best way to find out whether the lettuce reads as fresh or startling.
