No.634 is Eden Perfumes' unisex take on Maison Margiela's Replica By the Fireplace, a cult favourite built around the comforting smell of a wood fire on a cold night. It opens with clove, pink pepper and orange blossom for a warm, slightly spicy start, before chestnut, guaiac wood and juniper create a cosy, smoky heart reminiscent of roasted chestnuts by a fireplace. The base settles into vanilla, cashmeran and Peru balsam for a sweet, ambery finish. Eden's version captures the roasted-chestnut, smoky-sweet concept well and is instantly recognisable to anyone familiar with the original, though it comes across a touch sweeter and less smoky-textured than the real Replica, and fades to a simpler vanilla base sooner. Still a strong choice for winter evenings, cosy nights in, or casual autumn wear when that fireplace comfort is exactly the mood you want.
