Inspired Perfumes' 112 follows Marc Jacobs' now-discontinued Decadence closely on paper: a plum, saffron and iris opening over a rose-jasmine heart, settling into an amber-vetiver-papyrus base. The plum and saffron combination gives the right dark, slightly spiced fruitiness up top, echoing the original's rich, jammy character. The bigger gap is in the base - Decadence's amber-vetiver blend was noted for a smoky, almost leathery depth that made it feel genuinely opulent and mysterious, while this oil dupe's version reads simpler and sweeter, with the vetiver and papyrus contributing less complexity than in the original. Still, for fans who miss the discontinued Marc Jacobs fragrance, this offers a recognisable, affordable taste of that dark plum-amber mood, best worn in the evening given its lower projection and shorter lifespan than the original ever had.
