Inspired Perfumes' 252 is built around the peach-and-vanilla warmth that made Dolce & Gabbana's The One a modern feminine classic. The peach, litchi, mandarin and bergamot top notes give a juicy, inviting opening close to the original's, and the lily, plum and jasmine heart keeps a similar soft floral character. The vanilla, amber, musk and vetiver base is where the two diverge most - D&G's original develops a rich, almost creamy warmth that lasts for hours and becomes a genuine skin scent well into the evening, while this dupe's base is noticeably lighter and fades within a couple of hours. It is a comforting, elegant everyday floral in its own right, well suited to office or date wear, with the caveat that you will want to keep the bottle handy for a midday top-up if you want the warmth to carry through a full day.
