Liu Jo Gold opens with a rather surprising, sweet fruitiness of pear and sorbet, quickly getting swallowed up by the warm, syrupy embrace of praline. The real star, though, is the emergence of a surprisingly wearable oud and leather, softened by a creamy vanilla and a hint of earthy patchouli, creating a dark, smoky depth beneath the sweetness. It’s a bold oriental with a decadent, edible quality.
