About

Gilded Pod starts with a quick, slightly dry flash of blackcurrant and cardamom, with calamus adding a green, almost herbal edge. It does not last long. Within minutes the heart takes over, and this is where the fragrance lives: vanilla caviar and cacao pod give a dark, creamy sweetness, while osmanthus adds a soft apricot-like glow. The base is thick and warm. Madagascar vanilla sits on top of Peru balsam and labdanum, which gives the sweetness a resinous, honeyed backbone instead of letting it go flat. As a 30 percent extrait, it clings to skin and clothes and settles into a steady, close trail rather than a loud one. A single spray on the chest or wrists is plenty on a cool day.
