About

Modern Oudh trades heavy darkness for a sweet, polished glow. It starts bright with bergamot and green mandarin, and saffron adds a dry golden warmth to the citrus. At the centre sit Bulgarian rose, jasmine and orange blossom. The rose is full and velvety, the jasmine is creamy, and the orange blossom adds a honeyed lift. The dry-down is soft and sweet. Indian oud gives a smooth, woody depth rather than a harsh one, patchouli adds earth, and vanilla and tonka bean wrap everything in a warm, creamy layer. Musk keeps the finish close and clean. At extrait strength it lasts through a long evening and leaves a pleasant trail. It is best in autumn and winter, for dates, dinners and nights out, and it suits men and women who want an oud that is easy to wear. Oakcha no longer sells it, and its page has been removed from oakcha.com; this page records it for owners. Bottom line: a rose, vanilla and oud blend that is warm, smooth and approachable.
