Impression Cashmeran Velvet

Cashmeran Velvet is the soft-focus member of the Ostens Impression range, built around the warm, woody-musky material it is named for. It was composed by Sophie Labbé, and it reads less like a perfume with a plot than like a texture: velvet, cashmere, a blanket drawn up to the chin. The opening is quiet. Cashmeran leads, with amyris and a little frankincense giving it a dry, woody edge. The heart is sandalwood and cedar, creamy rather than sharp, with iris smoothing the corners. Underneath sit vanilla, musk and patchouli, and the vanilla is sheer sweetness rather than dessert. Wearers describe a lightly sweetened sandalwood that stays close to the skin and never overwhelms. Performance is moderate. Most voters rate it long lasting, and it carries into the evening, but projection is intimate to moderate, and a few wearers wish it spoke up a little more. Autumn and winter lead the season votes, spring is a comfortable second, and summer is the least natural fit.
