Lost Cherry

Lost Cherry goes after Tom Ford's cult Private Blend release, a gourmand built on black cherry and bitter almond that even reviewers who dislike fruity fragrances admit to loving. Pearl Fragrances doesn't hold back on that signature - the cherry-almond opening here is arguably louder and sweeter than Tom Ford's own, closer to a boozy cherry liqueur from the first spray. The jasmine that gives the original a surprising floral, slightly masculine tobacco-adjacent turn is present but quieter, and the rose is barely noticeable. The tonka-vanilla base that Tom Ford builds up with cinnamon, Peru balsam and sandalwood for a warm, spicy finish is simplified here into a plainer sweet vanilla that doesn't hold the same complexity or the reported eight-hour longevity. Anyone who wants the fun, candy-cherry idea of Lost Cherry for a night out will find this convincing at first spray; it just won't carry them through the whole evening the way the original can.
