Azure Mallet opens fresh and watery - a cool lotus with grapefruit and a juicy melon, scattered with lily of the valley, peony and gardenia for a clean floral lift. The heart blooms into jasmine, rose, orange blossom and a soft tuberose, feminine but never heady. The base settles into creamy sandalwood and clean musk with vetiver, a touch of oakmoss and a whisper of suede. Compared to Ralph Lauren Blue, this Perfume Parlour interpretation keeps the airy, aquatic-floral spirit but reads a little brighter and simpler on the flowers, while the soft, graceful woody-musk drydown that gave the original its delicate sophistication is thinned out. As with the lightweight original, staying power is modest. It remains a pretty, refined aquatic floral, ideal for warm-weather daytime, office and casual wear.
