Beautiful Leather

Beautiful Leather opens on dried fruit dipped in incense, lifted by a honeyed osmanthus flower, before turning warm and dark in the heart: a smoky leather laced with tobacco and a rose petal lingering in the background. The drydown settles into oud, vanilla, oakmoss and ambroxan for a resinous, comforting finish. Inspired by Armani Prive Cuir Majeste, it chases that hypnotic, mysterious leather-and-fruit character that makes the original feel rich and enveloping. As a Perfume Parlour version it renders the blend flatter and more linear, with the inexpensive leather and dried-fruit accords weighted up and the costlier oud and tobacco nuances softened, so it projects less and sits closer to the skin than the original's above-average sillage. The result is a warm, smoky leather that captures the mood of Cuir Majeste - smoky, fruity and comforting at once - without its last layer of luxe depth.
