Perfume Parlour Break LIII is an Eau de Parfum launched in 2020. Break LIII opens with Oregano, Bergamot, and Allspice, settles into a heart of Amber, Labdanum, Incense, and Opoponax, and dries down to a base of Smoke, Leather, Sandalwood, and Oud. Perfume Parlour's Break LIII carries an Acquired verdict, a smoky-led wear.

Break LIII chases Amouage Interlude 53 Man - the same smoky-incense powerhouse with oud, leather and amber. The dupe captures the dark, resinous mystique but renders flatter and far softer-projecting than one of the strongest commercial fragrances ever made.

About

Break LIII opens with a herbal, peppery flash of oregano, pimento and bergamot before the star takes over: a deep, smoky incense laced with labdanum, amber and opoponax. The base is dark and resinous, with oud, patchouli, sandalwood, leather and a smouldering smoke accord - the brooding, commanding character that made Amouage Interlude 53 a benchmark beast. Perfume Parlour's version captures that smoky-incense mystique convincingly for the price. Against the original it reads simpler and dramatically tamer - the smoke gentler, the incense less three-dimensional, and projection a fraction of the monstrous sillage and 12-plus-hour longevity the real thing is famous for. As an affordable smoky-incense oud for cold-weather evenings it delivers the dark mood without the room-clearing power.
