Citrus Muse opens crisp and energising: a dominant grapefruit lifted by lemon and bergamot with an aromatic touch of lavender - the sophisticated citrus signature of Xerjoff Casamorati's Mefisto Gentiluomo (2018). The heart turns gently floral and powdery with violet, iris and a whisper of rose, before settling onto the Xerjoff-style base of cedar, musk and soft amber. Perfume Parlour's interpretation captures that fresh-to-powdery elegance well, with the same clean grapefruit brightness up top. Compared with the original, the citrus reads a fraction more synthetic and less juicy-natural, and the whole composition is a touch flatter, missing some of Mefisto's refined seamlessness. Longevity is moderate - the original itself drew mixed reports, from ten hours to skin-scent in an hour. The effect is clean, refined and versatile - a polished citrus aromatic that flatters across three seasons. Best in spring, summer and milder autumn, it suits the office, casual wear, daytime and easy dates.
