Florence Fit opens fresh and aromatic - bergamot, lavender and a thread of aniseed over soft orange flower, the crisp, tailored start that gives Made To Measure its name. A spicy heart of nutmeg follows, lightened by watery lily and a touch of plum and juniper, before a smooth base of labdanum, patchouli, leather and amber rounds it off. Against the Gucci original the dupe reads a touch flatter and less polished, the elegant interplay of fresh spice and soft leather simplified. Because Made To Measure is itself a light, close-wearing scent, the budget version sits even nearer the skin with shorter longevity. It wears as a clean, sophisticated aromatic-spicy - easy across the milder seasons and suited to the office, casual days and dressier occasions alike. Projection is modest and longevity skin-close after the opening hours. As a smell-alike it captures the smart, suited character of the original while losing a little of its refinement and what staying power it had.
