The base settles into a clean, soft finish of musk, creamy sandalwood, vanilla and patchouli. Against the original, this Perfume Parlour version captures the pear-and-powdery-violet signature convincingly but renders it a little flatter: the violet lacks the original's contemporary, mischievous lift and the clean musk-sandalwood drydown thins out sooner. Longevity is moderate - itself a sticking point on the original, which some find fades within an hour. It is an elegant, refined powdery floral for spring and cooler seasons, daily and office wear and light dates - a wallet-friendly route to that polished Palatine violet.
