Perfume Parlour Populated Wood is an Eau de Parfum launched in 2010. Populated Wood opens with Cinnamon and Saffron, settles into a heart of Cedar, Rose, and Incense, and dries down to a base of Amyris, Oud, and Patchouli. Perfume Parlour's Populated Wood carries a Statement verdict, a rose-led wear.

Populated Wood recreates Dueto Parfums City Oud, the rose-dominant, oud-supported Eastern-Western blend. It captures the saffron-cinnamon opening and that rich rose-incense heart with a soft oud base, but the dupe softens the original's strong projection and wears closer, trading its long sillage for a skin-near budget version.

About

Populated Wood opens warm and spicy with saffron and cinnamon, a classic oud-rose overture. The heart is heavily rose-driven - lush and slightly jammy - lifted by a light incense smokiness and cedar support, exactly the rose-forward character the original is known for. The base is a smooth, soft oud rounded by amyris and patchouli, woody rather than aggressively animalic. Against Dueto Parfums City Oud, this dupe gets the rose-and-oud DNA right and keeps the spicy-floral warmth, but the original's strong projection and long sillage are dialled back here, leaving a more intimate, skin-close wear. Longevity is moderate. It is a sophisticated, sensual rose-oud for cool-weather evenings and formal occasions, offering much of the original's Eastern-Western charm at a budget price.
