Sensible Forte

Sensible Forte opens cool and resinous with elemi and a crackle of dry pepper, faithfully echoing the cold-spice character of Sauvage Eau Forte. The heart is led by lavender, here rendered green and faintly licorice-like, giving the scent its brooding, aromatic personality. The base settles into soft musk and dry musky woods, understated and a little melancholic in the way the original is described. As a dupe it tracks that spicy-fougere profile in outline, and since the genuine Eau Forte is itself a low-projecting, near-skin scent, the divergence here is gentle - both wear close to the skin with moderate longevity. The development is flatter and more linear, but the confident, grey-sky mood carries through. The result is a peppery-aromatic woody with quiet depth, suited to cooler days, the office and evenings out - a wallet-friendly way to wear the most characterful, low-key Sauvage flanker.
