Strong Aroma opens with the cooling fizz of coriander and cardamom over a bright lemon, mirroring the crisp, spicy start of Kilian Musk Oud. The heart is more rose than musk early on, just like the original - a Bulgarian rose laced with geranium, dry cypress and a herbal artemisia edge that gives it the clean, polished floral character the Kilian is known for. The base finally brings the title notes forward: a tame, refined oud over clean musk, earthy patchouli and a thread of incense, holding the sophisticated, slightly powdery drydown. Community feedback is encouraging - one owner of the original calls Strong Aroma essentially identical and notably long-lasting - while purists argue the niche oud's clean, almost metallic polish is hard to fully capture, and here the oud sits a touch flatter and less luminous. Performance is solid for the price, with a close, evening-appropriate sillage. A clean, grown-up rose-oud for cooler-weather wear and anyone after the Kilian character without the luxury price.
